Directions to Walnut Grove

From San Francisco

Approximate driving time is 90 minutes, 75 miles.

  1. Take I-80 E across the Bay Bridge toward Oakland.
  2. Use exit 8B to change onto I-580 E toward Hayward/Stockton.
  3. After 1.5 miles, use exit 19B to change onto CA-24 E toward Berkeley/Walnut Creek.
  4. After 13 miles, stay left at the fork to change onto I-680 N toward Sacramento/Concord.
  5. After 5 miles, use exit 50 to change onto CA-242 N toward Concord/Pittsburgh.
  6. After 4 miles, stay left at the fork to change onto CA-4 E toward Stockton/Pittsburgh.
  7. After 14 miles, take the right exit with the sign saying "4 Stockton / 160 Rio Vista".  After taking the exit, continue straight onto CA-160 N toward Rio Vista/Sacramento.
  8. You will cross the Antioch Bridge over the San Joaquin River.  The bridge toll is $5 (FasTrak OK).
  9. After 18 miles on CA-160 N, you will reach the town of Isleton.  On the other side of Isleton, CA-160 N turns left across the Isleton Bridge.  This bridge is scheduled to be closed for maintenance on May 9.  Instead of turning left, onto the bridge, proceed straight on Isleton Road.  There will probably be detour signs indicating this changed route.
  10. After 8 miles, turn left onto the Georgiana Slough Bridge.  On the other side of the bridge, turn left onto River Road.  You are now entering Walnut Grove.

From Oakland

Approximate driving time is 80 minutes, 75 miles.

  1. Take CA-24 E toward Berkeley/Walnut Creek.
  2. After 13 miles, stay left at the fork to change onto I-680 N toward Sacramento/Concord.
  3. After 5 miles, use exit 50 to change onto CA-242 N toward Concord/Pittsburgh.
  4. After 4 miles, stay left at the fork to change onto CA-4 E toward Stockton/Pittsburgh.

  2. Use exit 12A to change onto I-680 N toward Sacramento.
  3. After 38 miles, use exit 50 to change onto CA-242 N toward Concord/Pittsburgh.
  4. After 4 miles, stay left at the fork to change onto CA-4 E toward Stockton/Pittsburgh.

  1. Take I-5 S toward Los Angeles.
  2. After 20 miles, take exit 498 for Twin Cities Road; then turn right onto Twin Cities Road.
  3. After 4 miles, turn left onto River Road.
  4. After 2 miles you will enter Walnut Grove.
