First field operational test, Walnut Grove

In June 2007, our first drifter experiment in Walnut Grove demonstrated the capabilities of our new equipment. The focus was on learning how to deploy and retrieve drifters, and to test the GSM communication capabilities of our devices. We deployed both our own drifters and a fleet of TAG drifters on loan from Prof. Stacey's lab.
